At SCRUB, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account and all associated data from our systems.
How to Delete Your Account
Open the SCRUB App
Launch the SCRUB app on your mobile device and log in to your account.
Go to Settings
Tap on your profile icon or navigate to the Settings screen from the bottom menu.
Select "Delete Account"
Scroll down to find the "Delete Account" option and tap on it.
Confirm Deletion
Review the information about what will be deleted and confirm your decision.
Alternative: Request Deletion via Email
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us:
- Send an email to privacy@scrubaiapp.com
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your SCRUB account
- We will process your request within 7 business days
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number
- Account Credentials: Password hash and authentication tokens
- Email Data: All synced email metadata and categorization data
- Transaction Data: Extracted receipt and spending information
- Preferences: Notification settings and app preferences
- OAuth Tokens: Gmail access tokens (also revoked with Google)
Important Note
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to export any data you want to keep before deleting your account.
Data Retention After Deletion
After you delete your account:
- Personal data is deleted within 30 days
- Email data is immediately removed from our servers
- OAuth tokens are revoked with Google
- Anonymized, aggregated analytics may be retained for service improvement
- Backup systems may retain data for up to 90 days before complete removal
Revoking Gmail Access
In addition to deleting your SCRUB account, you can revoke Gmail access directly through Google:
- Go to Google Account Permissions
- Find "SCRUB" in the list of connected apps
- Click "Remove Access"
